this literally took days. but it was definately worth it.

basically work shedule for this went like this:

day one
main outlines penciled
main outlines inked
small scales penciled
small scales inked
body scales penciled
body scales inked
mane inked

day two
main body painted

day three
scales painted
mane painted
gold painted

day four
pencil background

that was a very long time to spend on one illustration but it wasn't just for fun, it was also for college and also for my boyfriend who is thinking about getting a dragon tattoo on his side. he loves this image (it was designed with him in mind) and may get this actually tattooed.

it is a chinese style dragon, but i used no references. it all came completely form what i feel a chinese dragon looks like, plus i am half chinese so i have seen this traditional style before.
